It is important to ensure that you have the right winter garden tools to get the job done.

Step 1
Check on your tools
Make sure you have a well-running lawn mower. You should service your lawn mower DIY-style before and after use.
Make sure you have it cleaned thoroughly before storage by removing grass and running the engine until the fuel tank is empty. This will make life easier for you the next time you are ready to clip the length of your grass at the end of the season.
One thing to note is that caring for your garden tools is crucial to giving them longevity.
Get rid of excess dirt on your shovels and forks, grease handles with motor oil and store upright against a wooden surface to prevent rust.
Step 2
Seeds inventory
Spring will arrive soon enough and you want to make sure that you are prepared. Check your seeds inventory and stock up on any that might need planting when the season starts.
Doing a seeds audit should give you some peace of mind and help you when you are ready to plant and grow the seedlings later.
You do not want to realise that there is a shortage when it’s time to plant your seed. This is, therefore, one of your most important winter garden tools.
Step 3
Propagation beds
Alongside doing your shed’s inventory, also look at propagation beds for your rooting plant cutting. Ensure you have garden clippers for this project, as well as enough beds to act as mini-greenhouses for your propagated plants.
These can be plastic containers which you can store inside your greenhouse, or you can choose to build your own outdoor propagation beds.
Either way, ensure that you have all the materials you need to get the job done. Be sure to clean your tools after each use, oiling them to preserve their effectiveness.
