Jetour has officially landed in South Africa and as one of China’s fastest-growing SUV brands, it hopes to find the same success locally with the Dashing and X70 Plus models.
At the end of last week, the foundling Jetour brand unveiled the Dashing and X70 Plus models as part of a Sandton City fashion and travel-themed event. The automaker claims that the two new models exemplify Jetour’s vision to lead the global travel automotive market, showcasing a refined mix of sleek design, advanced technology, and premium features. Jetour, derived from the words “JET,” symbolizing speed and success, and “TOUR,” have been selected to reflect the brand’s ethos of freedom and adventure, aims to create vehicles that resonate with lifestyle and travel enthusiasts.
Li Xueyong, President of Jetour Auto, emphasized the brand’s strategic focus on South Africa. “This market is mature and highly competitive. We’ve conducted extensive research and are bringing products that meet local demands. The launch of the Dashing and X70 Plus today is just the beginning,” he said, outlining Jetour’s ambitious sales targets of 2 000 units by year-end and 30 000 cumulative sales over the next three years.
The Jetour X70 Plus serves as a 7-seater SUV designed for families and adventurers, featuring cutting-edge technology, spacious interiors, and robust safety systems. The striking exterior, with a commanding grille and elongated LED headlights, is matched by advanced features like keyless entry and rugged tyres suitable for diverse terrains. Inside, the cabin exudes modern elegance, enhanced by ambient lighting and premium synthetic leather seats. A panoramic sunroof and safety features such as Lane Change Assist and Blind Spot Detection add to the appeal. The X70 Plus Momentum model is priced at R454 900, while the Deluxe variant costs R484 900.
The Jetour Dashing on the other hand is tailored for urban living and features a modern exterior aesthetic. High-quality materials and intelligent safety systems ensure a refined driving experience and Jetour hopes that the Dashing’s starting price of R439 900, with the Deluxe model available for R469 900 will help the firm hit its ambitious targets.
Nic Campbell, Vice President of Jetour South Africa, highlighted the significance of this launch as a milestone for the brand. “This event marks our commitment to innovation and progress in transportation and mobility,” he said. Jetour’s entry into the local market is supported by a comprehensive after-sales strategy, including a R100 million investment in parts at their Midrand headquarters and a network of over 40 dealerships nationwide.
