Ageing is part of growing up that we can’t escape even if we wanted to. We can, however, invest our time well by partaking in activities that will make us enjoy ageing better.
Here’s five of the many signs that you can look out for if you are not sure that you are ageing well as provided by experts at the Mind Journal.
Lifelong Learning – If you’re still eager to continue learning new things and embark on new activities as you grow older, that is a sign that you are ageing well. This is simply because, as people grow old, their interest in learning new skills decrease, adds the information hub. One can learn how to dance, knit, sing or even learn a new language.
Prioritising Physical Health – You are ageing well if being healthy is something important to you. According to Dr. Viven Brown of Best Health, “exercise has been linked to various benefits, including improved cardiac health, decreased dementia and stronger bones.” Prioritising health includes eating a good balanced diet that includes a lot of fruits, vegetables, staying hydrated and partaking in healthy exercises, adds the hub.
Pursuit of Enjoyable Activities – Regardless of illnesses that may arise with age, those who age well still continue to enjoy each day to the fullest as they age. Activities such as play playing chess, taking time to travel, joining social groups and even spending time with friends and family means you are indeed aging well, says the hub.
