With its breathtaking scenery, the mother city is a nature lover’s dream come true. The areas provide a range of camping locations ideal for outdoor enthusiasts like myself, with stunning views of mountains, beaches, and forests.
There is the ideal location for you, regardless of your preference for peace and quiet.
Below are the top camping locations close to Cape Town that are on my family’s must-visit-again list:
Limietberg Nature Reserve
Passionate hikers and nature enthusiasts like myself will find paradise in Limietberg Nature Reserve, which is tucked away in the breathtaking Boland highlands. This spot, right here, has the most beautiful views and it is at the top of the list for that good reason. It’s ideal for people looking for peace and quiet because of its rich flora, and fauna.
Ou Skip Holiday Resort
On the banks of the Breede River, Ou Skip Holiday Resort provides a fun and family-friendly camping experience. It’s ideal for a fun-filled vacation because it has lots of activities, beautiful gardens, and excellent fishing spots. This one I would definitely give this a try because, for one, the kids won’t get bored, I’m including myself in this, having fun is a rule in my family, and Ou Skip Holiday Resort supports this.
Silwerstroomstrand
It is very difficult to find a place to call a coastal treasure, Silwerstroomstrand blends lush fynbos with gorgeous sandy beaches. This well-liked camping location offers swimming, fishing, and breathtaking sunset views, making it the best place for beachgoers and outdoorsy people where you can enjoy this peaceful haven by pitching your tent close to the sea.
Yzerfontein Caravan Park
I spent an unforgettable weekend at this park. If I might add, I was not disappointed at all by what was offered. A charming beachfront retreat, Yzerfontein Caravan Park is well-known for its stunning vistas and friendly ambience. You may camp right next to the beach, and take leisurely walks down the most beautiful sand that I have ever seen. It is beyond accommodating as one does not necessarily have to bring a caravan along, your tent will suffice, not to mention the availability of chalets.
