The holiday season is well underway, and we’re not complaining. Although we adore ringing in the holiday season with all its sequin-adorned glitz, we can’t deny that overindulging in alcoholic beverages can leave us feeling the effects the next day.
Although we don’t recommend exceeding the legal limit, it does happen to the best of us, and having the nutritional information to deal with a hangover is the greatest approach to overcome one.
Water
Before even considering meals, you should start by drinking water. As a result of the acute dehydration caused by alcohol consumption, your body will start to drain water reserves from several locations, including your brain (hello headache). This is why it’s so crucial to top off your body’s water supply. Keep a bottle or glass of water nearby at your desk and sip on it frequently throughout the day to refresh your body. Water is one of the best natural pain relievers available, especially after a night of drinking.
Lime
Lime juice is effective at curing hangovers, much like lemon juice is. When you wake up, try mixing a pint of water with two teaspoons of fresh lime juice and a teaspoon of honey to see if it helps.
Spinach
Its no surprise that this all rounder made it to this list. Spinach is good for giving the liver a helping hand in detoxifying. Each leaf is jam packed with folic acid, vitamin C and sulphur – all of which are substances praised for preventing the dreaded hangover symptoms.
Chamomile Tea
Want to ease nausea and bloating while also soothing a throbbing stomach? Grab the chamomile tea box. To add natural sugars to the list of advantages it provides for a hungover body, sweeten with honey.
Bananas
You become more dehydrated the more alcohol you consume. Additionally, you lose more potassium the more dehydrated you become. Your energy levels may drop, and you could experience cramping, nausea, and vomiting if your potassium levels are low. Consuming a banana, which is high in potassium, may help to shorten the duration of these telltale symptoms.
While there is no magical cure for a hangover, several foods and drinks may help you feel better. The best way to prevent a hangover is to avoid alcohol altogether or to drink it in moderation.
