We are officially a week away from being in the middle of the year, and while it may seem as though the months have passed by quickly, this is an important time to sit down and reflect.
Many have entered the year 2024 with goals, visions and things they planned to achieve within this year. While getting to all of them may not always be possible to achieve within a certain amount of time, re-visiting your 2024 vision board or list with aspiring goals could be beneficial in highlighting how far you have come, and what else is needed for you to meet the rest of your goals.
According to ETA .org, goal re-evaluation is important as it, “enables us to judge whether we have had the impact we planned, contributed to changing the situation we wanted to change and whether or not we achieved our goal.”
Online newsletter Drop in CEO Digest recommends trying the following framework in order to determine how far you are from your goals, as well as whether you have used all the resources to your advantage. This is known as the CEO’s Compass.
CEO’s Compass:
Purpose: Are your current actions aligned with your true purpose?
People: Do you have the right people with the right skills in place to lead them to success?
Performance: Performance is human centric. Are you utilising the people around you (yourself, your team, and your community) in a way that gets you to your goal?
Process: Is your current process streamlined to get you where you need to go, or is there room for improvement?
Platform: Are you using the right tools for this process? How can technology help you?
By reflecting on the above mentioned framework, you would be able to make an informed decision on whether or not you are able to meet those goals within the intended time and in the process, this will help you avoid burnout.
