When the sun starts to slowly set over the ocean water, a certain type of magic happens. Once alive with the day’s laughter and footsteps, the beach finds a quiet rhythm.
This is when I arrive because this girl genuinely enjoys the peace and quiet that the beach in the evening offers and as the waves continue their never-ending dance on the shore, the air becomes cooler and carries the subtle smell of salt and sea.
As the sky changes from warm golds and flaming oranges to deep purples and midnight blues, it becomes a living work of art. The perfect view and Instagram snap but if you are like me, keep your phone hidden in your bag and just take in the beauty of it because it is as though nature is silently inviting you to stop and see everything.
I take it as a reset. The soft sand beneath your feet grounds you in the here and now, and the sound of the waves has a way of calming racing thoughts. It’s a moment for introspection, for gaining perspective, or just for letting go.
Take this as your sign if you’ve been looking for an excuse to get away from the hustle and bustle. Here are two beaches that you should definitely have on your list.
Sea Point Beach
Sea Point Beach is a bustling coastal treasure where the city and the sea meet. It features a rocky shoreline, breathtaking sunsets, and a lively promenade that makes it the ideal place for a refreshing getaway with unrivalled views.
Beach Lagoon, Milnerton
For those looking for a quiet getaway by the sea, Lagoon Beach is a serene haven with expansive sandy shorelines, stunning waters, and a tranquil ambience. It also boasts sweeping views of Table Mountain.
