Hermanus

Once a year locals enjoy all there is to explore when it comes to marine life. This is because the town is well known for its whale-watching opportunities. History publication – Museum of Wonder – explains that whales often come closer to these shores between June until December, providing visitors and locals with a close–up view of the ocean life.
Graaf-Rienett

Known as the hometown of Springbok player Elton Jantjies, this small town is well known for its historical background which is considered the pride and joy of those who live in the area.
According to Museum of Wonder, Graaf-Rienet is home to well-preserved architecture and has more than 200 monuments. Because of its beauty, it has been dubbed the gem of the Karoo.
Another iconic wonder is the Graaf-Rienet Museum which contains some of the oldest utensils and cutlery.
Colesberg
This is another quiet mining town with a rich history. The place also has strong association with well-known characters of the South African diamond industry. These characters are “John O’Reiley, who purchased the first diamond found in South Africa from its owner, Schalk van Niekerk,” who took it to Colesberg for testing, explains travel publication SA Venues.
It is said that some of the popular places to visit in this town are the old horse-driven mill pub, the quaint Cape Karoo cottages in Bell Street and the Kemper Museum, which includes a section on the Anglo-Boer War.
