We might have serious problems as a country but the humility and warmth our people possess can not be compared to anything.
Those who grew up in the rural areas and townships may be familiar with the idiom, “Umntu ngumntu ngabantu (I am because of others).”
This idiom was recently put into practice when MamNtlane, a granny from Willowvale in the rural part of the Eastern Cape started receiving groceries and household items from TikTok users who saw her on the app and started liking and following her content.
MamNtlane’s granddaughter user @Mamntlane4 started sharing her cute grandmother on the app, receiving nothing but love from internet users.
That did not end there as they started sending her money to buy MamNtlane food, clothes, a microwave and other goods.
After seeing MamNtlane’s two old rondavels, internet users united on a quest to build her a house.
TikTokers have now been depositing what they have in an account used for this project. Some have also volunteered to offer their skills to build and put electricity in the house.
Shocked to see all the goodies and clothes that she continues to receive from “abazukulwane (internet grandchildren)”, Mamntlane has been thanking her “grandchildren” who she has never met for all the love she’s been getting

In the comment section, this is what internet users have been sharing:
“When you tell me about POWER OF SOCIAL MEDIA tell me about TikTok…the love of my people is amazing and massive.”
Another user noted, “All the peeps who stretch their hands to help lomakhulu, may their source never run dry in Jesus name, may God richly bless and enlarge your territories.”
