Even the most driven among us occasionally experience lack of motivation. In fact, there are times when we are in such a funk that it is impossible to even consider making changes for the better.
However, there is still hope; in fact, you can start down the path of change with a few modest steps.
Why you may be in a slump
- Fatigue: Are you physically, mentally or emotionally drained?
-
Boredom: Are you bored with the tasks that you are doing? Are things starting to seem repetitive?
-
Stress: Do you have too much on your plate? Is there too much pressure? Are you managing and relieving your stress?
-
You Don’t Believe In Yourself: Do you believe that you aren’t capable or that you lack the skills, knowledge or resources to be successful?
-
Your Goals are Too Big / Too Small: Goals that are too large can be overwhelming and can cause us a lot of stress when we don’t see any significant progress. Goals that are too small don’t challenge us enough for us to make any significant changes or improvements in ourselves. Are your goals too big or small?
According to Personal Growth Educator, Amanda, Here are a few tips to help you.
Acknowledge your feelings
Acknowledge where you are at, remember whatever you are feeling is valid. Everyone has these feelings at some point.
Move your body
Moving your body changes your posture and breathing patterns and helps release endorphines and relieve stress.
Freshen up your space
Taking a few minutes to clean, organize or freshen up your space can help your inner state transform too.
Go slowly but don’t stop
When you’re not feeling your best, allow your self to move at a slower pace. But if you want to get out of a slump, try to keep moving forward.
Do things future you will be thankful for
What small steps can you take that your future self would thank you for? Tackle any small and manageable tasks you feel up to so that you can start to build momentum forward.
