Many people like to enjoy poached eggs in restaurants and find it too daunting to try them at home.
Ready to make a delicious silky, firm white and running yolk poached egg at home?
With these tips your poached eggs will come out perfect every time.
- Do not be afraid of tackling a poached egg at home. Remember that it is fairly easy to make even if your egg does not look that great in the beginning, as it usually always works out. Be patient!
- Fill up a pan with roughly 50 ml of water and bring to a boil. When the water has come to a boil, turn the heat down slightly before adding your egg. Remember that if the water is boiling too much then you run the risk of your egg breaking. On the other hand, if the water is not boiling enough then you run the risk of your egg not staying together. So make sure that you turn down the heat slightly before adding your egg.
- A great tip to try would be to crack an egg into a small dish before adding the egg to the water. The reason for this is so that the egg can ease into the water smoothly.
- Before adding your egg into the water, add a splash of vinegar and take a spoon or spatula and create a swirl in the water. Then, very carefully, add the egg from the dish into the swirl that you have created in the boiling water. Then adjust your heat according to your preference. Remember to splash some water over your egg so that it cooks properly.
- Make sure that you keep your eyes on the egg. When the whites look set and the yolk looks runny, remove the egg with a spatula or heaped spoon.
