Constable Devon Cox has ended up in trouble with the police force after his viral bathroom selfie.
According to The South African, Devon was named South Africa’s sexist cop and was issued a disciplinary hearing for violating police protocol where he took pictures of himself wearing his uniform and carrying police weapons. This act is punishable according to the SAPS law as members of the police force are prohibited from posting pictures in full uniform.
However, this did not sit well with many internet users with some even feeling like the police force was jealous of the attention he was getting online. Speaking to the above-mentioned source Colonel Priscilla Naidu said, “No member may display a profile photo of themselves in uniform, any police weapons, logos or an avatar on their private social media.”
Devon who is passionate about his job set the record straight by stating that he was not interested in becoming an overnight internet sensation but was more focused on his job which is to serve and protect.
Devon has since grown his social media platforms, after the viral bathroom selfie posted on TikTok, some users took it as an opportunity to find out if he was dating someone.
