An elderly man experienced what seemed like a first-time flight experience, that seemed to not meet his expectations. In a chucklesome video, the elderly male is seen seated onboard the flight with a rather unheard-of request for the flight attendant concerning his electronic device.

The presence of flight attendants on a flight is to serve the best interest of the passengers. Flight attendants make it quite known that their presence is to ensure that passengers experience safety and comfort while also being clued with what happens in case of emergencies.

In their demonstration, the cabin crew staff also mentions that it is required that electronic devices belonging to passengers be put on airplane mode during the flight. This is instructed by flight attendants before the takeoff and is maintained up until the landing of the aircraft.

In a TikTok video shared, a female flight attendant is seen attending to one particular cabin passenger who complains that his phone’s battery has died. Following him informing the flight attendant, he is then heard saying, “Phone yam iphelelwe yi battery, awuno cela pha ku driver andi chargele (My phone’s battery died, can’t you please ask that the driver to charge it for me?).”

Referring to the pilot as “driver,” he then repeats his request concerning his phone in hopes of being clear and being understood by the flight attendant. He says “u’driver afake pha kula lantuka ye cigarette lighter (ask the driver to charge my phone using the cigarette lighter socket).”

The flight attendant then responded by saying “asina cigarette lighter kwi flight” (we do not have a cigarette lighter socket on the flight). Finally concluding his request and acknowledging what had been said by the flight attendant, the passenger says “Hayi mntakabawo, hai sikhwele eye into mntakabwo ( oh my, this is some strange mode of transportation that we are commuting on). The video ends with flight passengers in stitches as the elderly passenger claps his hands in wonder.
