The act of doing prayer boards is often to hold ourselves accountable and have constant reminders to push through and not back down from our goals. It also sets to serve as a reminder to pray for the things God has placed in your heart.
A prayer board is a visual display of your prayers. It is a constant reminder to pray, while also being able to gratify the role of faith and God’s presence in your life.
According to Get Upon the Waters – a site dedicated to educating Christians on the word of God, “a prayer board or a prayer wall is a simple way to keep track of your prayer requests and answered prayers and to keep conversation with God flowing throughout the day.”
Use this time to strengthen your relationship with God through constant prayer and dedicating scriptures to whatever aspirations you would like to obtain this year. Dedicate a fair share of your time to committing to being intentional through learning scriptures that align with your goals.

Remember to ensure that your prayer board covers every aspect of your life. This is a relatively fun and simple step that allows you to personalise your prayer board as it should be located at a very central place where you will often kneel and pray. Apply your creativity and arts and crafts skills to enhance your board.
While the presentation can be freestyle, ensure that your prayer board has these as its foundation.
Steps:
- Gather or create a suitable amount of envelopes that you will label with different aspects of your life. For example, finances, families, self, friends, mental health, etc.
- For each of these, dedicate two or more Bible scriptures that align with your aspirations, then simply write down what you aspire.
- Do this for each aspect until completed.
- Place each note in the envelope it belongs in.
- Create an envelope labeled ‘answered payers.’
- Each time any of your prayers are answered, remove it from the initial envelope and place it into the one labeled ‘answered prayer.’
- Remember to pray constantly.
