It is back to school and parents are still finishing up everything that is required from them stationary-wise. Others are making sure that their children’s books are up to date and nicely covered.
A woman named Lebang Kgosana decided to use her Checkers Sixty60 paper shopping bags to cover her child’s books. She shared the video on TikTok showing how she went about this whole idea.
In the video (which obtained 5.2 million views in just four days), she mentions that she used the Checkers Sixty60 paper bag due to its thick texture. “What I love about these shopping bags is that the long side of it is exactly the size of one book,” added Lebang.
She then continued to give instructions as she goes, showing how to get about it. Her son also joined her and helped with covering his school books.
In the caption, she wrote that she recycled her shopping bags as a book cover: “My online grocery shopping bags being recycled as we cover some school books!”

TikTokers commented on the beauty of Lebang’s work:
“I love this idea. I don’t see why people are saying negative comments,” said one person.
Another TikToker did not agree with this idea and wrote, “Imagine other kids have Batman or Spider-Man, because your mom is into recycling you have to have Checkers. Yoh trauma.”
