Ava Duvernay‘s distribution company, Array and Netflix have acquired the award-winning Ghanaian film, The Burial Of Kojo. The movie was written by Ghanaian artist, Samuel Blitz Bazawule who also made his directorial debut.
The film follows Esi, who recounts her childhood and the tumultuous relationship between her father (Kojo) and her uncle (Kwabena). After Kojo goes missing and is trapped in a mineshaft on an illegal mining expedition with Kwabena, Esi embarks on a magical journey to rescue her father.
The movie will debut on Netflix March 31 in along with a national screening tour.
