At the moment, emergency services are being flooded with calls about to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.
Many of the calls are about requests for transport to testing centres or for contact details of their nearest hospital handling the crisis. These calls block call centres’ lines and can divert resources from being used where they are needed most.
And that’s where 911 Response24 and their medical support comes in.
What is 911 Response24?
911 Response24 is an app available in both Apple’s App Store and Google Play. This app links you to your local emergency services, allowing you to call for help when you need it most.
How 911 Response24 is helping in the fight against Covid-19
In order to relieve the stress on the call centres, the app now includes a “Medical Support SA” button that is free to all South Africans – meaning that you don’t need to have the premium (paid) version of the app to get help for COVID-19.
911 Response24’s Medical Support SA button links you directly to the National Operations Centre, where trained agents will assess what you require and then direct you to your nearest testing facility or hospital, provide you with information on the virus or, if you need urgent medical assistance, will put you through to ER24 immediately
“We desperately want to help our country through this crisis. Every life matters and we hope to make a lifesaving difference to every person in SA,” says Marlize Holtzhausen, founder and CEO of 911 Response24.
Keep friends and family informed of your progress
Another important feature of the app during this period of lockdown, quarantine and self-isolation is the “Friends & Family” button. This button allows you to add information from your address book. Then, in the case of an emergency alert, they will be notified and can keep track of your progress.
This innovative and award-winning app is partnered with local industry giants, including Bidvest Protea Coin, ER24, and Caxton for added peace of mind.
