Actress Nomzamo Mbatha is set to star in Coming to America 2. This is the sequel to the 1988 movie which sees a prince from Zamunda, a fictional African nation, travel to America in search of a wife. According to The Hollywod Reporter, the star’s character is still being kept under wraps.
Nomzamo joins a slew of new cast members including Tracy Morgan, Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones, and KiKi Layne. The original cast Eddie Murphy, Garcelle Beauvais, Arsenio Hall, James Earl Jones, and Shari Headley will reprise their roles.
Speaking on the news, Nomzamo expressed her excitement at the news in a statement. She said in part: “I’m rendered speechless to be a part of a project of this magnitude, and it being a classic! To God be the glory!”
She continued: “Moving to Los Angeles was a choice of faith, and God has surpassed my wildest dreams. This moment is bigger than me – this moment is for every single girl who doubts herself or just how big her God is.”
Coming to America 2 will be released on 18 December 2020.
