The United States Poultry & Egg Export Council (USAPEEC) is giving away hampers that includes a wooden chopping board, an apron, a good quality shopping bag, disposable sensors to check that your chicken is cooked to perfection and a delicious Chicken Jambalaya recipe!
Chicken remains the lowest-priced high quality meat protein available on the market today, with a multitude of health benefits: Chicken is low in calories, rich in Vitamins A and E, lower in fat and cholesterol than most other meats, and is also a good source of niacin (vitamin B3), which aids in metabolism; vitamin B6, important to immune system and blood sugar level maintenance; biotin (vitamin B7), which helps cell growth; and vitamin B12, which is involved in nerve cell and red blood cell maintenance. Chicken also contains iron (for oxygen transport and cell growth) and zinc (for immune system functioning and DNA synthesis).
It’s been two years since the United States resumed chicken imports to South Africa, and South Africans have been snapping up the affordable, tasty, high quality cuts.
