Parmesan cheese bread
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 60 minutes
Serves: 8
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 5 cups cake flour
- 3 tablespoons castor sugar
- pinch salt
- 1 sachet instant yeast
- 1 cup sweetcorn, canned and drained
- 1 1/2 cup warm water
Method
- Mix cheese, flour, sugar, salt, yeast and sweetcorn.
- Add water. Mix well to form smooth dough. Knead for 10-15 minutes. Cover with kitchen cloth and let double size.
- Knead for 10-15 minutes and place into lightly greased enamel bowl.
- Half fill water in a saucepan, place the bowl inside. Cover with a lid and cook for 60 minutes or until cooked through.
- Serve warm.

Microwave steam bread
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Serves: 8
- 4 cups self-raising flour
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup bacon, cooked and chopped
- 1 cup carrot, grated
- 1/2 cup (125ml) butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cup warm water
- Fresh thyme, for serving
Method
- In a bowl mix flour, sugar, bacon, carrot, butter and water. Mix well and spoon into a microwave container.
- Cook into a microwave for 15 minutes or until cooked.
- Serve with fresh thyme.

Honey and sesame bread
Prep time: 60 minutes
Cooking time: 60 minutes
Serves: 8-10
- 1 cup (250ml) honey
- 1/2 cup sesame seeds
- 4 cups bread flour
- pinch salt
- 1 sachet instant yeast
- 1/2 cup (125ml) butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 egg
Method
- Preheat oven to 180C.
- Sift flour. Add salt and yeast.
- Add water, honey and butter. Mix well and knead for 15-20 minutes. Cover with kitchen cloth. Let is double size. Divide the dough into three. Neatly plait to create pattern. Brush with egg. and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake for 60 minutes or until cooked.
- Serve warm.
