As we all know, there was a lot of controversy surrounding Alicia Keys’ marriage to Swizz Beats. This is after his ex-wife, Mashonda claimed that Alicia had an affair with him while he was still married. Well they seem to have squashed that beef. On August 9, 1956 20 000 women courageously marched to the Union Buildings to protest the pass laws in South Africa. Each year we remember their efforts and those of many others by celebrating women’s month. Celebs have lended their voices to the movement by participating in protests, dedicating songs and movies as well as writing letters to government. In the latest effort driven by Alicia Keys and MIC, our favourite personalities speak about the ways that a black person’s life can be taken away.
