There’s only one word to describe the Beyoncé MTV VMA performance this weekend and that’s electrifying!
The singer stole the show when she gave some of us who haven’t seen her Formation World Tour a peek at what it must look like. She performed songs from her hit visual album, Lemonade.
On August 9, 1956 20 000 women courageously marched to the Union Buildings to protest the pass laws in South Africa. Each year we remember their efforts and those of many others by celebrating women’s month. As part of that movement, some of the women at the Bona office have shared the songs they feel inspire, uplift and empower them as women; sung by women from across the globe.
What songs would be on your women’s month playlist?

Beyoncé, Taraji P. Henson, Rihanna, Maxwell, Kevin Hart and many more celebs have participated in a MIC video to speak up following the numerous deaths of unarmed black people in the US. #BlackLivesMatter protests have been ongoing in America for years now as scores of black people continue to be gunned down by police officers and as we’ve seen in the many horrifying videos of their deaths – it’s without any aggravation.
Celebs have lended their voices to the movement by participating in protests, dedicating songs and movies as well as writing letters to government. In the latest effort driven by Alicia Keys and MIC, our favourite personalities speak about the ways that a black person’s life can be taken away.

Beyoncé & Kendrick Lamar opened the show at the BET Awards this weekend and it was insanely lit! They performed her song Freedom spectacularly and it was kicked off with a speech by Dr Martin Luther King Jnr.
