2018 is our “Year Of The Open Hand.” Because we truly believe that is the KAMERS/Makers difference. We’re all about the handcrafted… Each of our shows is “handmade” in the sense that every show offers something different.
To that end we unveil the brand new venue for our Autumn Show – St David’s Marist Inanda in Sandton, Joburg from 25-29 April. The stunning historic building which we will bring that inimitable KAMERS/Makers twist – 150+ Makers selling everything from hand-carved wooden bow ties and hand-turned wine-barrel furniture to hand-crafted porcelain jewellery and hand-spun scarves… add fashion, food and music and it’s the coolest stuff you’ve never seen!
We also believe in doing business with an open hand – one cannot give, nor receive, with a closed fist. Our proud record of launching new SA artisan entrepreneurs into the consumer market continues with dozens of never-before-seen Makers being showcased at each venue. Mzansi Makers, our non-profit initiative, got off to a fine start in 2017 with five successful projects up and running, and at least a further half-dozen scheduled and funded for 2018.
