Meet life and business coach: Tlhonepo Modisane

Tlhonepo Modisane

Tlhonepo Modisane chats to us about what it takes to help people through coaching. By Fundiswa Nkwanyana

My job entails helping individuals and businesses reach their full potential. I provide them with skills to reach their goals. I also help individuals live the life they want and assist businesses to develop a strategic progression plan. I act as an accountability partner who encourages them to do their best, regardless of circumstances.

I often help people who have difficulty finding their purpose and those with uncertainties. I ask questions that help them discover their drive and purpose. I also help them find solutions without directly telling them what to do.

Meet Nthabeleng Nhlapo: Owner of a hair salon for kids

Being a great listener is an important part of my job. I have to be attentive in order to figure out my client’s underlying issues. I also have to be patient, trustworthy, empathetic and solution-focused.

The duration and cost of consultations differ according to individual needs and preferences. Some opt to see me once a week or once every two weeks, depending on their goals and how much support they need. The average cost is R650 per session for an individual.

I highly recommend using the services of a competent coach from an accredited institution. I qualified as a master coach and coach trainer through Inner Life Skills Coaching International, which is accredited by the International Coaching Federation. There are many people that claim to know what they are doing when they don’t, so it’s best to get help from a qualified person.
